Use of Force Theory for Private Security Professionals
About Course
This course examines the authority, limits, decision factors, force options, reassessment duties, and documentation practices relevant to Texas private security work. It distinguishes private-security authority from peace-officer authority and uses statutes, cases, practical scenarios, and media review to build defensible decision-making.
This four-hour Use of Force Theory course meets the certification and continuing education requirements for Texas Private Security Officers and Personal Protection Officers. The student will learn definitions, levels of resistance, force options, as well as rules and statutes relevant to armed and unarmed security operations.
