Recognition, Response & Reporting – Workplace Violence Prevention 100
About Course
Working in healthcare puts people in close proximity to pain, fear, confusion, grief, frustration, and urgent decisions. Most encounters remain safe. Some do not. Workload, stress, and competing demands can influence what people notice, how they interpret behavior, and which actions seem necessary in the moment. Your ability to recognize changing conditions, use the prevention system around you, protect yourself and others, and report useful information is part of safe healthcare practice.
This course follows a simple cycle: recognize changing risk, reduce avoidable exposure, respond when danger becomes immediate, and report what happened so the organization can learn. Each step depends on human perception, decision-making, and performance, supported by workable procedures and reliable systems. These actions are connected. A timely report, completed while details are still fresh in memory, can reveal an unreliable alarm, a recurring hazard, or staffing conditions that make safe performance more difficult. Improving those conditions may reduce opportunities for human error and help prevent the next event.
